Growing up in a single parent household, I needed direction but I got NONE... and here's what might happen to your son...

I’m Jeff Scott, the author of Becoming the King series and my goal with this book is to help young boys… in the care of mostly single moms, understand what they are going through.

I don’t have a big sales gimmick happening here,
but if you read through, I will make you an offer that will be too good to pass up… one that will help your child immensly!

The book you see to the right, was my first book, though I’ve been a writer since I was about the age of seven.

All throughout my education, teachers commended me upon my story telling abilities, but not one teacher, especially my high school English teachers who loved my stories, ever told me that I should go to college or learn to hone my writing skills

This was a BIG MISS in my overall development into adulthood.

When I sat down and began writing Becoming the King / Charlie Finds His Voice, I had no idea how cathartic the book would become to me personally.

Half way through writing, I realized the story contained valuable information I wish someone had shared with me as I was growing up in a single parent household and trying to make my way through…

Making my way through some very rough patches of arguing with my mom, making my way through an education system I didn’t understand, and making my way through the peer pressure I was feeling defeated by.

I didn’t have a voice to fight these combative and confusing ideas going on around me..
I couldn’t speak out or tell anyone because I didn’t understand it myself.

As your son reads through this book, he will be doing this...

  • Learning by examples through story… not lecture
  • Understand how to solve issues… such as low grades
  • Deploying creative anecdotes to problems… thinking outside the box
  • Being responsible for one’s self… owning up to personal mistakes and correcting them
  • Re-analyzing previous personal thoughts… judgements that might not be true
  • Understanding the value of education… instead of it being something one is forced to do
  • Competing with one’s self… improving personal abilities
  • Compromising… evaluating circumstances and making fair offers

And so much more…

Fun Fact: Keep this in mind… 90%+ of self-help non-fiction books are never remembered after reading. BUT… humans remember fictional stories and/or anecdotes delivered via story, throughout their life.

Here are a few other facts that most boys will not tell their mom...

Because sometimes they don’t even know
  • The word FINE… means we might be going through something, but we will not divulge it at any cost. “How are you doing?” “I’m fine.”
  • We know you are going through personal things, and we think you handle them the way we do.
  • When we hit our teens and if we don’t have a dad, we’re going to prepare for manhood by grinding our teeth on you.
