Warriors – The greatest warriors in the world own nothing but their soul. A warrior has the ability to bring down kingdoms with the swift skills of an elite marksman, yet without the aid of a bow, a sling or sword. Waging war against him is futile. Exaggerated words of threat or fear cannot harm him, he is a warrior. A prison may contain him, but never capture his mind, he is a warrior. Good to all, including those believing they are his enemy, he is a warrior. Walking naked in this world, he will never be ashamed of his mistakes, he is a warrior. The greatest warriors of all time have lived in the moment, waited patiently to confront, then rendered their opponent haplessly broken, he is a warrior. If you do not know the depth of the warrior before your real battle begins, then you have already lost the war.
Balance – Kingdoms come and kingdoms go, by way of balance. Families break apart, by way of balance. One who neglects nature is lost, by way of balance. A country at war cannot comprehend the way of balance. Teeter totters used to be in every park, silently still, waiting patiently for young minds to come and learn a valuable lesson. If a man or woman, a community or a country, become imbalanced, perhaps you will find that the teacher has been removed from the park.
Passion – To stumble across one’s inherent gift and disown it with a dodge of the shoulder, is absurdly cruel to those who work into the night to perfect what you spat upon. An artist, an athlete, a scholar would deny themselves godly treasures, if in exchange, they could feel the triumphant breath received upon the attainment of perfection. The tear filled eyes crying to the heavens, the knees soiled in the earth, the arms spread with hands wide open… surmise the story of passion. To live any other way is a mockery to those who willingly reach beyond their natural ability and live with failure time after time. Living and not appreciating your inherent gift is to turn the page and never know the possibility of your own story.
Merging Consciousness – Merged Consciousness is the point where time and space are melded beyond recognition. A being has the instant ability to cross the boundaries the ego has set forth. While time and space are infinite, the ego mind conjures thoughts of inadequacies and refuses to enter into agreement with the universe, forcing one to withhold abilities of magnificent aptitude. Trillions of thoughts are analyzed every second of every minute and reveal the epitome of pure genius that can never be recognized by anything less than a merging consciousness.
Fear – The subconscious mind offers… fear of death, fear of bullies, fear of animals, fear, fear, fear. What has really happened is the fear of life. The adventurer finds the rush in the simplest of ways, through experience. One can only find that his fears are real by experience. Though, usually, the road taken is through the experience of others. From childhood we are told horror stories that creep into our emotions and freeze an impression upon our subconscious… “Never try this and definitely never try that,” are the commands we obey. It’s okay… avoid physical pain as it is the only kind that really hurts. BUT… Until any of your personal experiences turns into physical pain, fear is the subconscious lie you‘ve agreed to live.
Attachments – From birth, we are attached to the world around us. Constantly we fuss to have our way. As a baby we cry until we are satisfied. As a child we employ the widely used tantrum. As adults, we buy things to show others that we can still acquire what we want. The attachments are not all fulfilling. Our names, sex, race, relationships and countless other societal identities have been thrust upon us from the get-go. Some are even told that they are too needy… another derivation of attachment. There is a difference between the things you need to be attached to and the things you do not. What it all comes down to… was it your choice or did someone tell you, “That’s the way it is.”
After his yacht sank, a wealthy man, the sole survivor, drifted in his rubber raft for twelve days. When rescued and asked his name, he could not remember it due to a heat stroke wiping his memory clean. A week later the man died without anyone knowing who he was. The doctor promptly tagged the man’s toe and attached a name, John Doe.
Abundance – More than enough, In excess of, The highest point on a graph. Men have sold their souls to live in abundance bathed in oil, gold and silver. Even murder has played a part in retaining abundance. Shameful is the person who has enough and is still unnourished. This is where the tipping point comes into play. Everyone knows that what goes up must come down. When you lead an honorable life, gravity knows just how abundant it will allow you to become. Share the abundance and gravity lets go.
Greed – When I come across someone who is in need more than myself, I look around to see who is harboring all the goods… the material possessions, food and clothing, the shelter for a bed. Selfish desire is quite a feat, and when I spot who I believe to be the greedy culprit over in the corner counting pennies with joy, I am quick to realize my sight needs correction. Though I may not be able to offer clothing, food, or shelter… because my own pocket may be empty, I realize and understand my smile and compassion, the empathy from which I can relate, to speak and to share… unlike greed, I have much to offer.
Needs – A sage knows his needs are few. His home may be free of trinkets that normally line another’s shelf. Sally’s needs may be different than a sage, her trinkets may be of great value and of fabulous memories. Still, others may have a shelf lined with trinkets intentionally placed by decorators. A sage knows his greatest treasures are in his mind. Sally gets enjoyment from continually experiencing her past. A home with professionally placed trinkets represents the Being with the greatest of needs.
